Gatherings
Grateful Goddess Gatherings
Grateful Goddess Gatherings are designed to help every woman celebrate her goddess in a loving, playful and supportive setting. Gatherings are held monthly, generally the second Thursday of the month and will include such activities as creating your own vision board, gratitude journaling, belly dancing, meditation, discussion on money and spirituality and so much more. We welcome and are grateful for any feedback you may have. The ideas and possibilities are endless!
Walking Meditation—Due to the great interest, but brief rain shower in June deterring our efforts, we have decided to repeat this gathering in August while the great outdoors still calls us…
What: Join us as Gina Sandgren, Meditation & Mindfulness Instructor and author of the soon-to-be published book, Be Quiet, takes us on a walking meditation through Island Park. For many of us, summer means spending more time outside for walks, runs and bike rides. How often, however, do you really take in your surroundings and see, hear and feel all the beauty and wonder of nature? Gina had the good fortune of being on a 5 day retreat with Thich Nhat Hanh, a renowned Zen monk who is an internationally known author, poet, scholar and peace activist and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King, Jr. Gina will share her passion and experiences on the importance of mindfulness as well as provide tips and techniques for staying in the present moment as we breathe in the sights and sounds all around us. If you would like, bring a picnic to enjoy in the park prior to Gina’s presentation. Men are also welcome to join us on this mindful excursion. Afterwards, those wanting to extend the evening may choose to join us for a walk downtown for a beverage at Stokers.
Where: Island Park, meet at the cement steps of the old swimming pool at 7 pm; we will start the presentation at 7:30. Following the presentation and walk, those interested may join us for a walk to the HoDo where they have graciously allowed us to continue to socialize in the lower level—Stokers. Bartenders will be equipped and well versed in our new signature drink—The Grapeful Goddess Martini!
When: Thursday, August 21, 2008, 7 pm – 9 pm or later.
Why: For any number of reasons… 1) To be present to our surroundings and perhaps see the trees, flowers, grass and sky in a whole new light. 2) To treat our legs to a little stretch 3) To meet new and uplifting people 4) To gather with friends 5) To taste our new signature drink—Grapeful Goddess Martinis!
Cost: There is no cost to attend, but we will be moving downtown to Stokers following the event, so come prepared if you wish to purchase food and beverage. Because of the nature of this gathering (moving), The Grateful Goddess will have very limited amount of product available for sale. If there is something you know you would like to purchase, please note in your email and we will have it prepared for you. To view our product line, go to www.thegratefulgoddess.com.
How: Please send an email to info@thegratefulgoddess.com if you wish to attend, so we have an idea how many to expect.

Here is what people have had to say about gatherings:
"I had a wonderful time, as usual, and met new people to add to the rich tapestry of my life. I have to thank you for your ideas in gratitude journaling -- I have just barely touched the surface with what I had done, now it is time to dig a little deeper. See you at the next gathering!"
"I was invited to your gathering by an old and very dear friend. The invitation came when I was at an all time low and was questioning myself in many areas. I have 3 amazing boys that usually keep me on track but was not sure I was strong enough to guide them. But even after only one gathering, the energy was amazing and made me feel like... okay, maybe I am okay. So thank you, thank you, thank you.........I look forward to another fun and uplifting evening."
"Thank you, Darcy and Sheila, for all the good you are doing for our community and planet. It's been such a joy watching The Grateful Goddess grow from a seed of an idea to a fully blossoming beautiful flower. I am deeply grateful for what you do and who you are."
